Summer Night Lights

August 2018 · Ross Snyder Recreation Center, California · Role: Traveling Artist

Participated in a community enrichment initiative designed to bring families together through accessible, art-driven programming. The event focused on fostering connection, creativity, and positive engagement within historically underserved neighborhoods, using art as a tool to support youth and reduce gang-related violence.

  • All artworks created during the event were raffled and gifted to community members.

My piece I’m Fine was selected for CSUN’s annual Words & Pictures exhibition for its exploration of mental health, emotional suppression, and the tension between outward composure and internal distress.

Suicide Awareness Art Exhibition

May 2021 · Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas · Role: Participating Artist (First Place)

Submitted work to a suicide awareness exhibition and was awarded first place. The piece examined the emotional weight of suicidal ideation, advocacy, and the importance of visibility and conversation around mental health.

Community Impact

My work in events and exhibitions is closely tied to mental health awareness, trauma-informed storytelling, and community engagement. Through live art, curated shows, and recurring public programs, I aim to create spaces where difficult subjects—such as suicide, sexual trauma, and emotional instability—can be seen, acknowledged, and discussed.

Many of these events take place in parks, community centers, and academic environments, connecting professional art practice with families, youth, and individuals who may be encountering these themes for the first time in a visual format.
